About “Radiant Glory – Bowl Balancing”

The act is rooted in the traditional Chinese bowl-balancing art, which has over 2,000 years of history. Building upon this classic foundation, the troupe has made innovative breakthroughs by breaking away from the traditional male-female duo format. Instead, three young female performers take the stage together. They seamlessly execute a series of high-difficulty balancing feats, including hand-to-hand headstands, one-hand top balancing, and one-hand balancing with water bowls – creating richly layered three-dimensional formations that push the art of balance to its extreme. Throughout the performance, porcelain bowls remain steady atop their heads, combining strength and grace with Eastern aesthetics – embodying the Chinese acrobatic pursuit of stability within risk and stillness within motion.

A Triumph of Cultural Confidence

Tong Ronghua stated that the troupe’s achievement in Peru – winning four awards in one trip – fully demonstrates the creative accomplishments and world-class standards of contemporary Chinese acrobatics. It allows global audiences to appreciate the unique charm of Chinese acrobatics, showcases profound cultural confidence, and vividly presents the image of a new-era China. Following the festival, circus festival organizers and international judges from Russia, Belarus, France, and other countries have extended invitations for tour performances and regular cultural exchange collaborations – a clear testament to the growing international influence of Chinese acrobatics.
